Last month I was able to attend a Mommy Blogger Event to the Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. I never knew I would be attending so many events when we moved to Pennsylvania. When I told my hubby that the girls and I were going he was bummed because he likes the aquarium over the zoo. Now we have a reason to go again!
We arrived before the public was admitted so that we were given full access to every area of the aquarium. We got to see a baby alligator at the beginning.
We later got to see the penguins start their day by taking a dip.
Julianne was definitely taking it all in. She LOVES water so she was running everywhere to catch a glimpse of water.
The underwater was so intriguing to my 20-month old. She was actually seeing LIVE fish instead of seeing fish in a book. Sharks and more too!
She kept asking me “Up!” just to be able to see every section with fish and creature. She would have climbed up if she could. She was constantly desperate to see MORE!
How about the gigantic alligator, called Mighty Mike? We all got to take pictures in front of the tank. So menacing!
I think the most exciting section (for me), was the music area. There were stations where kids could make music with different tins. There were also areas for kids to touch star fish, sting rays and small sharks. All very safe! There was even a station to wash hands too.
Did I mention that it was just the girls and me? I used my baby carrier to take the 4-month old and I took the stroller in case I needed to take a break with her. It all worked real well especially since the 4-month old LOVES looking around. She was taking it in really well.
Can you see the speed and the number of fish? It was hard to keep up with Julianne. She was just a happy toddler.
Once we got to the Jules Verne room it was darker so I was able to hold her and keep her close to me. We talked through every sea creature in awe.
More jellyfish!
What an amazing octopus!
My next favorite section was the shark tunnel.I wish we had more time in that area but it was the lat section of our tour and my children were on their last leg before lunch time. I could have been in there for 30 minutes.
Kathleen enjoyed every moment and she was quiet the whole time! I loved that.
