I’m sorry it has been pretty quiet around the website lately but we have been SO busy lately! We are packing fiends and trying to keep sane around the house. We have a little more than 2 weeks before we move from Michigan to Pennsylvania and it is going to be a big move.
How is it going with a VERY active baby? Moving is a whole new monster with a baby in the picture. Thanks be to our God for giving us a new day because every day is really good. As long as I keep her schedule going around the moving, it goes well.
Last week we took a 12 hour car ride to West Chester, PA to check out the area, my hubby’s work, and a place to live. Luckily, Julianne did really well with our car ride. It was hard at times because like me she got tired being in her car seat but we gave her plenty of car breaks as we did for ourselves. Every time we took her out she had a bigger smile as to say, “Finally, some freedom!” Poor girl, but she was sure a trooper.
It was a disappointing several days looking for places to live but at the end it looks like we might have found a place. Yes, I know. Here we are close to two weeks with no place to live. I have really needed to depend on God’s strength for sanity. I am one to stress very easily while the hubby is the cool cucumber. I am glad because it is positive for me.
During one of out outings, Julianne and I hit a vegan spot in Bryn Mawr that Ryan found on Yelp. What a nice hubby eh? It is owned by a Brazilian guy and is the only vegan lunch spot in the area. It was delicious! I went with a Tofu Banh Mi on the most delicious grain bread with a special cilantro sauce. I totally want to make this! They also have natural sodas so I tried the ginger ale. Not too sweet at all.
Julianne got to try her first falafel and hummus. People were so impressed at how well she ate and how quite she was. I told them she took her meal times very seriously, like her mommy. Hahaha.
So now we are back home after a long trip and week but we are looking forward getting things all packed. I am getting my baking while I can and before it is all packed here this week.
I made Angela’s Triple Almond Cherry Crumble Squares recipe but with Black Raspberry Jam and no almond extract (dang, I packed it up!). They were still a hit. I actually had to go to bed while they cooled but I gave my hubby permission to have a bar after I went to sleep. I woke up the next morning to find he ate two squares! Thanks for the great recipe Angela!
