In-Season Vegetable Pasta

April 6, 2010 by Noelle 11 Comments

Little by little I have been learning what it is to eat vegetables and fruits that are in season. I had not been one to really focus on this but since moving to Michigan, I have come to understand what produce would be available.I missed the Farmer's Markets this winter but I am looking forward buying fresh herbs, vegetables, and fruits. It makes shopping at a regular supermarket reallt boring. It … [Read more...]

A Chilean Feast for Eight

March 30, 2010 by Noelle 10 Comments

From An Opera Singer in the KitchenEver since I heard about the earthquakes in Chile, I felt sad that I had not met most of my distant relatives, from cousins to aunts and uncles. From An Opera Singer in the KitchenI could not help myself, but I had to squeeze another blogpost because this soup recipe was SOOO good! It has been very bleak and gray out here in Michigan. I headed out to school with Ryan this morning and made sure I had my great pair of snow boots on.I got these babies during the summer and have not turned back since. Being a native Texas (ha ha) I was afraid … [Read more...]

Zucchini-Portabella Enchiladas with Mole Sauce

February 23, 2010 by Noelle 10 Comments

From An Opera Singer in the KitchenWe had a great Sunday at church this past week after a beautiful sunny weekend. I had signed up for nursery help so I took care of a little boy while his mom taught Sunday School. I always see it is as a challenge when a mother drops her child off and the child just starts crying bloody murder. How long will it take him to stop crying? Will I start crying with … [Read more...]
