Skin Routine with TruSkin Vitamin C Serum

January 9, 2021 by Noelle Leave a Comment

After I became a mom I really let go of a lot of routines that I had for myself in order to focus on my babies and my home. Little did I know that almost 8 years would go by before I started taking care of my skin and myself as well. I had a chance to try TruSkin Vitamin C Serum for about 2 weeks and I actually like how my skin feels.

A little about TruSkin Vitamin C Serum

TruSkin has a philosophy to simply help each individual reveal their flawless skin. They only uses plant-based, vegan, and vegetarian ingredients without including any parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and polyethylene glycols. Especially important is knowing that it is formulated in the United states and are cruelty free and dermatologist and clinically tested.

So we know about Vitamin C when it comes to oranges, but how do we get it on our skin? Vitamin C Serum uses a stable form of vitamin C that stays potent longer without it needing high levels of preservatives.

What does TruSkin Vitamin C do for the skin?

Active vitamin C targets dark spots, fine lines, and over all tone while nourishing, protecting, and feeding the skin. In addition to the vitamin C, the serum contains a high concentration of aloe vera that calms and soothes the skin. I definitely feel that every time I applied the serum to my face.

One of the great things I liked about this serum is knowing I could use it day or night. When I first applied the serum, I was surprised to see that it was cloudy. I learned that it is cloudy because TruSkin uses a unique form of vitamin C called sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP). It has a salt molecule attached to a natural preservative, which allows TruSkin to keep lab-engineered preservatives very low. When added to the liquid formulation, it gives it a soft, creamy, or cloudy color.

Review

When I first started using TruSkin Vitamin C Serum, I made sure to do a patch test for 24 hours just to make sure my skin did not react. While it is recommended, I always do that because I personally have sensitive skin. I started using it by washing my face and then drying. I used my favorite facial toner by Dr. Haushcka, and applied TruSkin Vitamin C Serum. I added a 2-3 drops and applied to my face. I actually needed an additional 2-3 drops for the rest of my face. As the serum dried on my face, I felt my skin tighten.

I like that feeling but it also felt dry which is why I applied the TruSkin Vitamin C Moisturizer. I actually stayed with a clean face some days in the week without applying makeup. I liked how my skin felt. I look forward for my dark spots by the corner of my eyes to disappear as I continue to use TruSkin Vitamin C Serum. I really like knowing that I am keeping my skin healthy and nourished with well-established products.

Be on the look-out for TruSkin’s new logo stating: “New Year. New Look. Like you, TruSkin is ready for a fresh start. TruSkin is welcoming 2021 with a new look!”
